Public Spirit will hold its launch event at the Queen Elizabeth II Conference Centre at 4pm on 23 October 2013 in partnership with FaithAction, the Secretariat to the All-Party Parliamentary Group (APPG) on Faith and Society. The event will be introduced by Stephen Timms MP, Chair of the APPG, and will coincide with the release of the first issue of Public Spirit’s quarterly magazine.
During the launch we will host a debate on faith and finance, beginning at 5pm. A panel will discuss the following question:
‘Can public faith help rebuild the link between morality and markets?’
The panel will include:
- Francis Davis – founder of the Cathedral Innovation Centre and former advisor to government on faith and communities
- Jon Cruddas – MP for Barking and Dagenham and head of Labour’s policy review
- Liz Carnelley – Programme Director of Near Neighbours
- Tarek El Diwany – senior partner at Zest Advisory LLP and author of The Problem with Interest and Islamic Banking and Finance
The event is free to attend and will be preceded by a reception and refreshments, giving participants the chance to meet the Public Spirit team and its partners and to explore Public Spirit’s work. To reserve a place go to: https://publicspiritlaunch.
